selected exhibits > The Annals of Echo

In the aftermath of the Executive Order 13769 or the 'Muslim Ban,' it sent an outpour of emotions in the homes and streets of America. The Annals of Echo captures social media statuses in a resembling old burned book concerning the ban. Orders much like these have started wars and genocides in our past and recent histories. Posts on social media during the order and Anne Frank's diary  are not far from each other; fear is a very common element in these trying times.

The Annals of Echo is made out of newsprint, rope, and wood. It was part of Spearwave 3, a monthly exhibit by Soomaal House of Art, and exhibited at the Somali Museum of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 11, 2017.
